Roskilde Festival is one of the largest music festivals in Europe attracting an audience from all over Europe. The festival is organised by the Roskilde Festival Society who donates all profits to national and international humanitarian charity and cultural purposes. Roskilde Festival presents an up-to-date and progressive music programme with more than 160 performing acts ranging from contemporary rock to electronic music, hip hop and global beats plus an extensive programme of non-musical activities and events. Each year, approx. 20,000 volunteers contribute to create an intense week of experiences for the 76,000 paying visitors.

The 1st Festival of Festivals took place in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1997, as a result of a local initiative to present some of the finest short and documentary films that had won prizes at various international film festivals. From the very start, another goal of the festival has been to provide a showcase for regional productions made by non-professional filmmakers.
